TIP 8: KEEP TABS ON YOUR WATER INTAKE

Yup, that's exactly what you are!

A plant ladies. And one that flourishes when it is mighty hydrated!⁠ ⁠Keeping hydrated is SO important my little plants! It's a simple and essential self-care routine that you need to keep on track with.⁠ ⁠ 

We all know the benefits of drinking water, but let's just name a few, to ensure you keep tabs on your water intake.⁠ ⁠

  • Supports heart health⁠
  • Improves circulation⁠
  • Increases waste removal⁠
  • Flushes out toxins⁠
  • Improves complexion⁠
  • Boosts your immune system⁠
  • Enhances brain function⁠ Increases energy and alertness⁠ ⁠

Ok, so you get it right.

Making sure you drink water enough during the day is super important ladies. ⁠

A really easy self-care tip, but sometimes one that we forget too easily about.⁠ ⁠

So if you want to keep being the Badass Boss you already are, then bottoms up ladies - water, ladies, just water!⁠

At the moment I am totally obsessed with this water bottle! I love that it has a straw (that can be cleaned) and isn't too heavy.

TIP 9: SET 3 TIMERS TO REMIND YOURSELF TO PAUSE

We all know that the more we do, the more our body is solicited and on demand.

We are always running around like headless chickens.

How about we stop and observe, listen, breathe and take all that surrounds us in?⁠

⁠ It's free and makes you feel darn good!!⁠

So set those timers and tell me how you feel after.⁠

TIP 10: REMOVE 5 ITEMS FROM YOUR SPACE THAT YOU DON'T LIKE/USE

Sometimes, it's just easier to hold on to items when we don't really know what to do with them. But by doing that, we just accumulate and our space ends up lacking just that - space!⁠

We all have that junk drawer, that shelf or even that corner, where we just pile things and pray they disappear, or that the cleaning-fairy will miraculously make disappear, right?

I tend to do jus that.

Stack things, and wait till the pile tips and then I'm forced to tidy up.

It only really happens in my office. The rest of our house is fairly clutter free.

Getting rid of things can be quite stressful for most.

I get it. 

As a child I moved around so much, that I got used to not carrying around much and just keeping the bare essentials, the items that made me feel safe and that held memories to me.

Because we moved around so much, due to my parents' careers, I remember being absolutely heart-broken when I couldn't find this little musical instrument that was made out of red-clay.

My Dad had brought it back for me from a trip to Europe, and I really loved it! I would pretend to be a great musician and would drive the whole household nuts with the awful sound it made.

But I loved it.

With this self-care tip, I'm definitely not implying you remove something that you love, I am, however, merely suggesting you get rid of 5 things that definitely do not give you joy, and either donate them or throw them away.

TIP 11: LIGHT A SCENTED CANDLE


Let's get lit!

Who doesn't like sweet smells in their house?

May it be the smell of baking cookies - which may remind us of our childhood, the smell of freshly cut grass, which may remind you of a perfect spring day, or even the scent of freshly brewed coffee - which tells our brain that we need to get our A in gear- pronto!! ⁠

So let's get lit and light yourself a lovely scented candle, y'all!

I bet that lighting a candle is synonymous to relaxation, calm and peace.

The most effective way to start off your day or to end it!

And if you are lucky enough, run yourself a bubble bath!!!

Self-care BLISS!!

This is my favorite scented candle of all time. I discovered that I my sense of smell was super sensitive when I was pregnant, and this was the only candle-smell I could tolerate!

TIP 12: SET YOURSELF A BEDTIME TIMER


Invest in your sleep.

Yup, just like when we were kids and our parents used to tell us to go to bed, well we are going to do it ourselves, by setting ourselves a bedtime timer.

Raise your hand if you have a tendency to push back your bedtime, because you've got things to finish, or you want to read that last page of the chapter in your novel, or you want to know how the episode of the show you're watching ends?

Come on, raise it higher. Because, I for sure have been guilty of those such things!

However, since trying this little technique, my evenings have been much more serene, because I know that I have to get things done before winding down for the night and my days are much more productive, as I feel refreshed and well-rested!

Try it before dishing it y'all.

Your sleep is vital for your productivity and it's important to invest in your sleep!
